another milestone of my life

FINALLY!!!!!!

Phew, it feels like I've lifted a massive weight off my shoulders.

I've been waiting what seems like an eternity to write this post. Even now, I can still feel butterflies going crazy in my stomach, like I'm on a date with the guy I've been crushing on forever. Honestly, I'm incredibly proud of myself for reaching this point in my life. I shouldn't be this excited because I know all too well the dangers of over-excitement, but I just can't contain myself right now.

Well, that was quite the confusing intro. Let's dive into the main point.

Five days ago, on April 26, 2017 (it was a Wednesday), I finally passed my driving test! It's an unforgettable moment in my life. I can't believe I was behind the wheel during my final driving test. I kept asking myself, 'Is this really happening?' and 'Am I actually going to pass this time?' because it felt too good to be true.

To give you more insight into my driving test, there are three parts. First, before the computer test, we attended a 6-hour lecture for a day. Then, after a week, we could apply for the computer test. Following that, we had 16 hours of driving lessons. The duration of driving lessons varies depending on the driving institute. As for the pricing, it's approximately the same for everyone. After the driving lessons, we had to pass a QTI test before proceeding to the real JPJ test. On the day of the JPJ test, there were two parts: one at the driving institute and the other on the real road outside.

On my first JPJ test, I was extremely anxious. Looking back, it's somewhat funny. I even cried in the morning before my uncle took me to the driving institute. I failed due to a parking mistake, but I passed the real road driving. After about a month, I retook the driving test and passed. I can't describe the feeling when I finished the last course. Before getting into the car, the driving institute big boss, an old Chinese guy, reassured me, 'Don't worry, you'll pass. Today, I've seen many happy faces.' I was session 3 number 1 that day, so my turn was very late. But I thought to myself, 'It's better to be late than to fail.'

Luckily, my best buddy Kim and I took our retest on the same day. She failed in her parking before. We kept convincing ourselves that we would pass if we went together. She went before me and completed the test flawlessly, boosting my confidence.

Good vibes are contagious!

After finishing my test, I went to the waiting booth to get my results. Even though we finished driving through all the courses, passing wasn't guaranteed. It depended on how many marks were deducted from our RPK and RSM. My friend got her results first and passed with flying colors. Eventually, my results came out, and I had also passed. I was immensely grateful to God for granting me success that day.

Finally, I can check off one of my goals for 2017.

Now, my next goal is to start driving! I'll update you when that day comes because there aren't any cars at my house that I can drive right now. Wish me luck!

Sincerely,
Octavia
